The oddly named UBiQUiO 503G Pocket PC Phone looks set to ship this June 20, so those who can afford to wait on picking a smartphone till then ought to give this a little more thought. After all, the UBiQUiO 503G is powered by a pretty muscular 520MHz processor, featuring 256MB ROM, tri-band UMTS/HSDPA support, integrated WiFi and stereo Bluetooth connectivity, a 2 megapixel CMOS camera with micro focus and a standard VGA camera for video calls over a 3G network. A microSD memory card slot is there for memory expansion options. There is no word on pricing for this quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE handset though.

MoGo has unveiled a new 5mm thin Bluetooth 2.0 headset at CTIA, bringing users true mobile convenience. Weighing a mere 1/3 oz, the Mogo Bluetooth headset comes with a fold-out ear piece that rests comfortably in the ear and stored flat when not in use. You can always slip it into any available PCMCIA or ExpressCard 34 slot for charging purposes, making you travel even lighter since there is no need to lug around additional cables. In addition, by simply placing it in either slot makes for a great storage location. Pricing and availability details are still unknown.

RAZR, ROKR all phones are moving thinner and thinner, and it seems their side kick is no different. A PowerPoint slide talks of a Moto-made Sidekick X RAZR Multimedia device. Since Moto’s RAZR line consists of ultrathin phones, it’s a safe bet to assume the Sidekick X RAZR will be a slimmed-down version of the current Sidekick, complete with all the texting, web-browsing functions of the original. It’s not much use to those of us in North America but Nokia flagship “multimedia computer” just launched pretty much everywhere but here. It’s mid-march which means the ($736) Nokia’s N95s now shipping in “key markets” spread across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. So while the rest of world is enjoying that 5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, WiFi, HSDPA, and dual-slidin’ S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 action. Nokia does release a lot of their products in the USA, but generally carriers don’t pick up their higher end phones. Don’t be afraid to go to the Nseries website!

But it’s up to you to make it, not me - the reason being that E-TEN’s latest Windows Mobile 6 smartphone has your usual two cameras. One is an auto-focus two megapixel version at the back for hi-quality snaps and vids, and a VGA camera on the front for video calling. The important thing, however, is that it has 3.5G connectivity with HSDPA/WCDMA and Wi-Fi, integrated Mobile Office suite and a 640 x 480 pixel screen.

The details on this phone are scarce, but they do exist a bit. This looks to be the next smartphone from Sony codenamed Sneff. It looks like a touch screen, though… it’s possible that it could be a slider. who knows, all that I know is.. could be just all fanboy conjecture.

There’s no question that the DVR is a welcome advancement over the old school VCR, but even the new tech won’t do much for you if you leave the house and forget to set your box to record. Certain services like TiVo let you program your machine from a distant PC — and let’s not forget how easy Orb makes remote recording — and now AT&T is offering its Homezone subscribers an even sweeter deal, allowing them to get their record on directly from web-capable cellphones. At the office but forgot to set your box to capture Guiding Light? No problem. Out to dinner on a Monday when you realize Heroes starts in five minutes? Again, you’re golden. You’re upstairs playing WOW on a Friday night and can’t tear yourself away from the current raid to tape a Full House marathon on Nick at Night? Um, you may have bigger problems than AT&T and your cellphone can solve. Anyway, Homezone customers can access this new feature immediately — along with an influx of 10,000 downloads from Akimbo — so things should get just a little more exciting while you bide your time waiting for U-Verse.
