Motorola has announced the re-release of it’s StarTAC, and everyone…in korea.. is pretty excited. The new version of this is a budget phone. It’s low on feature, high on function. It’s one of the first shell phones that was comfortable and fun to use. It was also one of the first universally used phones to add modifications to. It may never see US shores but she still is pretty.

Though it may seem a little too much like a one of those calculator watches for some, SMS Technology Australia’s upcoming M300 watch promises to be a mobile phone on your wrist. I4U News reports it’ll see the light of day in late March for around $500.
The M300 watch should be able to work with any GSM network. It also supports Bluetooth so you can sync up a wireless headset, has a built-in MP3 player, can be connected to a computer through a USB port, has a speakerphone, and sports a 1-inch color screen. Nice features all, but we think it would be great if it could also let us view television or show us time by stacking rectangles
The M300 is the most promising Wrist phone since the NTT Wristomo in 2003. The Wristomo was only available in Japan. The water resistant M300 works on GSM Tri-band frequencies which are 900 Mhz, 1800 Mhz and 1900 Mhz. This allows any individual, who has an existing GSM sim card, to use the M300 in any country around the world.

LG missed the boat with the recent 3GSM show. This phone, from LG doesn’t have 3G capability. Shocking considering the LG movement recently. What it does have is EDGE, and a 3″ 256k color screen. MicroSD is the memory of choice, and with LG recently internal speakers are good quality. Bluetooth, Camera, and radio included. It doesn’t support some GSM, so if you want it, you’ll have to order it through LG yourself.

Sony, isn’t relenting with digital audio market. This is alot like the Sony Ericcson model of phone. Unfortunately, additional details surrounding the NW-A800 are pretty scant, what we do know is it will be available in a quartet of colors, has a storage capacity ranging from 2GB to 8GB, and a 10 hours battery life. Word on the street is more details will be leaked when March rolls around.

It seems today was the landing date for the BlackBerry 8800. Boy Genius unboxes one on his site with a few notes on the style and performance. If the Pearl was your kind of thing, maybe you want to check this out. It seems wider, and a little more PDA driven, and not so much for the fashion set. I doubt, if you own one, your in the fashion set though.

The Samsung SPH-a303 is a slider much in the vein of Verizons slider. It’s EVDO with a camera built in. This phone screams sex with the way it looks. Not exactly feature packed, but what do you expect from a niche phone company?

Telcast’s new super touchy T59 is pretty and we all know it. 3.5″ touch screen and it runs Windows CE. It does everything you can do, but better. It’s also WiFi, has GPS and basically is a PDA with what it can do. Will it set it’s self apart? only time can tell.

Looks like Nokia will bump its N91 music-friendly cellphone’s capacity from 4GB to 8GB. And unlike other cellphones that claim to be music-centric, the N91 actually has a standard 3.5mm audio jack. You’ll also find a 2-megapixel camera, FM radio (requires a special headset) and the ability to view and edit many of those Microsoft productivity apps’ files, like Word.

There’s a sign up list to find out when the roided up N91 will hit stores. No word on who plans to carry it, but at least we know it won’t suck.

Auto manufacturers are racing with each other to integrate support for Apple’s soon-to-be-released iPhone into their respective vehicles, with BMW being the current leader in this race. The newer 7-Series sedan will be the first vehicle that comes with multi-level connectivity with the new cellphone from Apple, boasting integration that goes beyond standard Bluetooth. Let me guess - will it come with a special iPhone dock as well as work in hand with BMW’s iDrive system? I doubt users will transfer their entire iPod music library over to the iPhone, so having such a function isn’t really important when purchasing a car. Bah, I’m just bitter I can’t afford one of Bavaria’s finest.
